Eighteen years ago, as a young man, Pastor Thekiso walked alongside Dirk and Jenny Coetzee, showing the Jesus Film with a 16mm Eiki projector across the Northern Cape. Villages gathered, and lives were touched.
Today, he serves as a pastor with the Full Gospel Church (FGC) in Kuruman. The Jesus Film never left his heart. Knowing the power of the Jesus Film, he reached out to Jesus Film Project South Africa. We blessed him with a film set, and soon after that, he was trained to use micro-SD cards, to help others grow in faith through starting small discipleship groups.
Pastor Thekiso didn’t stop in Kuruman. He took the message further, reaching nearby towns and the Full Gospel Church in Buxton, near Taung in the North-West. As the film played and lives were touched, other pastors began to take notice. They saw something powerful was happening.
The time had come to grow. 15 leaders from 5 different churches came together. A training workshop was held in June, where we equipped them to start digital small groups, using smartphones and tablets to share short clips from the Jesus Film. One Jesus Film set was given to the area, and the five churches now take turns using it, working together to share the Gospel across their communities.
